A Church of extravagant welcome, Seeking a Just and Peaceful World

At First Congregational Church of Kittery United Church of Christ (UCC) we invite you explore our historic campus or to join us as we:

  • Come together for a concert or yoga class.

  • Help serve our community.

  • Enjoy a Sunday service.

  • Share time & talent in many fun, productive and creative ways.

Through gatherings, community service, and care for our shared history and historic campus, we bring neighbors together to honor our past and help build the future we all want together.

be a part of our history, present & future

Our historic campus situated along the coast in picturesque Kittery Point, Maine is on the National Registry of Historic Places

We ARE anchored IN the COMMUNITY around us.

  • People are craving real connection in an increasingly disconnected world.

  • Many want to make a difference locally but don’t know where to start.

  • All generations and types of people are looking for safe, inclusive spaces where kids and adults can learn, reflect, and grow together.

  • Newcomers to Kittery and Seacoast are hoping to make friends and feel at home in their new community.

  • And our historic campus—one of Maine’s oldest churches—needs care so it can keep bringing people together for generations to come.

Why We’re Here & still going strong?

because we create opportunities to:

  • A landscape of mountains and a lake with green and brown rolling hills in the foreground, under a cloudy sky.

    Make Friends

Come for worship, concerts, or community events—stay for the laughter, the potlucks, and the people who remember your name.

  • Modern houses on a hillside with snow-capped mountains in the background under an overcast sky.

    Do Good

Join others who care about Kittery. From preserving our 1729 meetinghouse to volunteering in the community, we turn compassion into action.

  • Modern house with wooden exterior in a mountainous landscape, with a large window showing two people inside.

    Seek Meaning

Here, we make space for people wherever they are on life’s journey—believers, skeptics, the curious, and the unsure.

Our historic Site

Our church and seaside cemetery have stood at the heart of Kittery since 1714—and are proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Together, they’ve witnessed more than three centuries of local life, faith, and community.

You can explore that history firsthand: come to a Sunday service, schedule a guided tour, invite a presentation to your school or organization, or make an appointment to research family stories in our archives.

We also welcome volunteers and supporters who want to help preserve this living landmark for generations to come. History lives here—come be part of it.
